SC-094: WET SCREEN PLANT

The wet screening plant was made to remove -3/4” to +1/4” bottom ash material (used for light weight aggregate) from slurry that was produced by a coal-fired power plant. The top shaker has ¾” perforated panels and the bottom shaker has  ¼” perforated panels and also includes spray bars. After running through the two screening decks, the water and fines drop into a tank that can handle up to 2500+ GPM. The fines and slurry water are then discharged through a screw and two 12” gate valves at the bottom of the tank and is gravity fed through 12” basalt pipe into a holding pond. The plant does have an option and the capacity to add another set of shakers to this plant. The plant also has LED lighting that is connected to a photocell for night operation.

This plant ran when needed for just under 5 years but was shut down due to the quality of the material not meeting the required specifications. The plant itself ran as it was intended to do so without any mechanical or operational issues.
