LEADING EDGE FRAC SAND DRYING PLANT WITH EFFICIENT PORTABILITY
Efficient portability was the goal. Tarmac’s new compact frac sand drying plant takes a new approach by adding mobility to the industry.
Tarmac’s custom thermal sand drying plant is highly mobile. The plant includes a single tractor load. The dryer, dryer burner, complete burner NFPA Natural Gas fuel train, baghouse, compressor, and starter panel are all included. Tarmac’s design features a structural steel custom built drop deck trailer, with a lower deck that holds all of the major equipment.
This custom plant can dry other products than frac sand too. Ron Heap, Tarmac President and CEO, explains, “Construction soils, sand, frac sand, and aggregate are dried then screened to the end user’s specification.”
This system has couple of notable features in addition to portability. First, the extended dryer shell and flights improve cooling of the material after it has been dried. Second, the added dryer shell diameter slows the gas velocity, improving the drying efficiency furthermore.
