Remediation,
Super 7′ Plant for heavy hydrocarbons, oxidizer, cooler, baghouse, acid gas scrubber.
Tarmac International`s customer, Enviropacific Services, received an award in 2015 for successful thermal remediation at the RAAF Air Base at Point Cook, Australia. Enviropacific used a Tarmac supplied direct fired Rotary Thermal Dryer System with extensive air pollution control equipment. Team members treated 27 hectare and 70,000 tons of soil and reinstated it onsite. This resulted in zero soil diversion to landfill – a major achievement for a site remediation project of this scope and size.
The site was successfully remediated and is now useful for training and camping. This beautiful site is South of Melbourne on the Port Phillip Bay as seen in the background of the photo. This Clean Up Project Excellence award came from Australasian Land and Ground Water Association (ALGA). It signifies the magnitude of the complex hydrocarbon contamination which needed to be remediated on a “sensitive natural environment” location.
